We hit the road early, heading to Regent, ND by way of the Enchanted Highway – so named for the huge metal sculptures that a local sculptor created. The Enchanted Highway was the reason for the trip. The highway ended in Regent, so that is where we planned...

We were up early for a yucky breakfast (not everyone eats pancakes; biscuits and gravy; or the weird, pre-made folded egg thing) at still-smelly Super 8; at least the coffee was good! Fortunately, we had plenty of provisions in our cooler, so I ate in our r...

Time is getting short, both for our departure and to get everything done for the boat purchase.

Prologue: As we began to realize that we would make it to the Epic Indy Weekend (EIW), we started checking flight schedules and prices. Our friends warned us that flights would be full and expensive, and they were. Bill said, “Why don’t we drive?” That was not a bad id...
During the summer of 2014, we (my husband, Bill, and I) decided to move from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands to the Pacific Northwest. In April of 2016, the move became a reality. Over a year ago, friends who live in Indiana had planned to go – with a group of friends – to the Indy 500 (hereafter known as the Epic Indy Weekend). We told them if we were able to sell our condo in time and move to the States, we would join them. This is our story of moving from a small island in the Caribbean to the Pacific Northwest, our road trip to Indy, and how well we adjust (or not)to a new - and cold - place.
